About Dr. Heena Malek
I became a dentist because I wanted to make a real difference in people’s lives by improving their oral health and confidence. Dentistry combines my passion for science, problem-solving, and working with people. I love helping patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles while also easing any fears they may have about dental care.
What I enjoy most about being a dentist is having the opportunity to impact not just my patients’ oral health but also their overall well-being. I am passionate about educating patients on the connection between oral and general health, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone leave my office feeling happier, healthier, and more confident.
With nearly half of adults affected by gum disease, prevention is key. Small steps like regular dental check-ups, consistent oral hygiene habits, and early intervention can make a significant difference in maintaining healthy teeth and gums. My goal is to help patients protect their smiles for the long term.
How I stay healthy and happy
I’m a very outdoorsy person, so I love hiking, swimming, and playing badminton to stay active. When I’m not at the gym, you’ll find me practising yoga or snorkelling at the beach on weekends. Spending time with my family and my two fur babies, Cooper and Coco, keeps me happy and grounded.
How I maintain healthy teeth and gums
I follow a consistent oral hygiene routine—brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, flossing every evening, and using mouthwash when needed. I also eat a balanced diet, limit sugary foods, and stay hydrated to support my oral health.
Essential tip to keep your teeth healthy
Never skip flossing! Brushing alone doesn’t clean between your teeth, where plaque and bacteria can build up. Flossing daily helps protect both your teeth and gums, keeping your smile healthier in the long run. And, of course, visit your dentist regularly—it’ll save you time and money in the long run.
