About Dr. Pratikshya Acharya

I became a dentist because I know what it’s like to sit in the chair feeling anxious and overwhelmed. Growing up, I experienced my fair share of dental issues, and that personal journey sparked a deep desire to care for others with empathy, patience, and understanding. I don’t just treat teeth—I see the whole person behind every smile.

One of the most rewarding parts of my role is helping patients feel more confident, whether it’s through a professional clean, cosmetic work, or simply taking the time to explain a procedure in a way that puts their mind at ease. I love creating a calm space where people feel heard and supported. When a patient leaves feeling better—physically and emotionally—that’s when I know I’ve done my job well.

In a world where nearly 1 in 3 Australians avoid the dentist due to fear or cost, my focus is on building trust through clear communication and honest care. I believe in doing what’s right for each patient, always. I take the time to understand concerns, explain options, and deliver treatment that supports long-term health—not just quick fixes. My goal is to make every dental visit feel a little less daunting and a lot more human.

How I stay healthy and happy

I start each morning with a peaceful walk, enjoying the sounds of nature and the clarity it brings to my day. Staying connected to myself and choosing calm over chaos helps me stay grounded and present. Whether I’m with patients, family, or friends, I try to embrace the moment and find joy in simplicity.

How I maintain healthy teeth and gums

I’m consistent with brushing twice a day, flossing daily, and never skipping my dental check-ups. It’s the small habits, done regularly, that make the biggest difference in oral health—and I encourage my patients to stick with it, even when life gets busy.

Essential tip to keep your teeth healthy

Brush twice daily, floss every day, and visit your dentist regularly—even when everything feels fine. Preventative care is the key to avoiding pain and costly treatments down the track.
