I became a dentist because I wanted to be in a healthcare profession where I could directly help people by relieving pain and restoring their well-being. Dentistry fascinated me because of how quickly it can transform someone’s life, whether through pain relief or a new smile. With every patient, I aim to make a positive impact by combining technical skill with compassion.
What I love most about being a dentist is that it combines so many aspects into one profession. From problem-solving and artistry to psychology and engineering, dentistry is a unique blend of science and creativity. This variety keeps me engaged and ensures I can tailor solutions to meet each patient’s individual needs.
In Australia, where approximately 50% of adults avoid the dentist due to fear or cost, I focus on providing a welcoming and supportive environment. I believe in empowering patients with education and preventive care, ensuring their oral health is maintained long-term. For me, every smile restored is a step towards improving overall health and confidence.
How I stay healthy and happy
I maintain my health by eating a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and staying active through sports like squash and badminton. Spending quality time with my wife and two children, along with taking regular holidays, helps me recharge and find balance in both my personal and professional life.
How I maintain healthy teeth and gums
Maintaining oral health requires daily care and discipline. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss regularly, stay hydrated, and ensure I get the necessary nutrients like vitamin C to support healthy gums. Regular check-ups are an essential part of my routine to keep my teeth and gums in top condition.
Essential tip to keep your teeth healthy
A healthy mouth is the foundation of overall health. Brush, floss, and see your dentist regularly to prevent issues before they start—it’s an investment in your well-being and confidence.
