About Dr. Malcolm Cotton

With dentistry deeply rooted in my family, becoming a dentist felt like a natural choice. Inspired by my father and uncles, I saw how dentistry could mix science and art to improve lives. Over four decades later, I’m still driven by the potential for improvement in every smile. Helping patients regain their confidence and oral health is the most rewarding part of my career.

My philosophy combines thorough, patient-centred care with decades of experience to achieve long-lasting results. Whether it’s helping patients address jaw discomfort, enhancing smiles with cosmetic treatments, or maintaining oral health across generations, I focus on tailored care that meets each patient’s unique needs. I prioritise reliable methods that stand the test of time to ensure that patients receive care they can trust.

Jaw pain, grinding, and clenching are common but often overlooked problems that can affect oral health and quality of life. I work with patients to identify these concerns early and provide solutions that not only ease discomfort but also protect teeth and prevent future complications.

How I stay healthy and happy
I stay active by going to the gym and walking whenever I have free time. Spending time with my wife and 11-year-old daughter is a huge source of happiness for me. Whether it’s rollerblading, ice skating, or wakeboarding, I love making memories with my family while supporting my wife in her many endeavours. Taking time to pray also keeps me centred and balanced.

How I maintain healthy teeth and gums
I brush three times a day, floss every night, and visit the dentist for a check-up and clean every six months. Consistency in these habits has kept my smile healthy and cavity-free throughout my life.

Essential tip to keep your teeth healthy
Clean the crevice between the gums and teeth by brushing and flossing carefully. This small effort makes a big difference in preventing gum disease and maintaining oral health.
