About Dr. Wilbert Zulueta
Dentistry appealed to me because it’s a unique skill set that will always be needed—but over time, I’ve come to see it as much more than that. What makes dentistry truly rewarding is being able to improve people’s lives: whether it’s relieving pain for long-time sufferers, supporting dental-phobic patients, or helping families build lifelong oral health. The appreciation patients show when their dental health improves is something I value deeply.
Family dentistry is especially meaningful to me. I’ve had the privilege of looking after children from their very first visits—walking in with toys and wide-eyed curiosity—through to becoming young adults at university. Being entrusted with multiple generations of care is an honour, and it drives me to maintain a high standard of dentistry every day.
With tooth decay still the most common chronic disease in Australian children, I strongly believe prevention and education must start early. Bad habits formed with baby teeth often translate into permanent teeth, which is why I make it a priority to work with parents and families on healthy routines. Dentistry isn’t just about fixing problems—it’s about instilling habits that last a lifetime.
How I stay healthy and happy
I stay active by going to the gym, which also helps me keep up with my two young daughters. My greatest joy comes from spending time with my family and making sure work never outweighs what matters most.
How I maintain healthy teeth and gums
I follow a simple but consistent routine: brushing twice daily, flossing, and using mouthwash. For me, oral health is all about discipline in the small, daily habits.
Essential tip to keep your teeth healthy
Good habits must start early. Baby teeth matter—teaching children proper oral care and healthy eating from the beginning sets the foundation for strong, healthy smiles that last a lifetime.
