Dentures are custom-made removable (or implant-fixed) appliances that replace missing teeth.

They’re built to match your natural gum and tooth colour, and shaped to support your lips and cheeks so your face keeps its natural contour.

You might consider dentures if you’re missing several teeth in a row, if an existing denture no longer fits comfortably, or if you’re finding it harder to chew or speak clearly. A dentist or prosthetist can assess your mouth and talk you through whether full, partial or implant-supported dentures are the better fit.

At No Gaps Dental, we have in-house prosthetists who are qualified dental technicians specialising in assessing, designing, fitting and maintaining removable oral appliances like dentures, working alongside your dentist.

Types of Dentures We Offer

Full (Complete) Dentures

Full dentures replace an entire arch of teeth. They’re custom-designed to sit over the contours of your gums for a secure fit, and are removable for cleaning.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are used when you still have some natural teeth remaining. They’re designed to match your natural gum and tooth colour, and to hold your remaining teeth in position.

Implant-Retained Dentures (Snap-In Overdentures)

Sometimes called “snap-in” dentures, these clip onto two or more dental implants for extra stability. They’re still removable for cleaning, but sit more securely than a conventional denture.

Implant-Supported Fixed Dentures (“Permanent” Dentures)

Also known as permanent or fixed dentures, these are supported by a series of dental implants and are not designed to be removed day-to-day. They stay fixed in place, similar to natural teeth.

Patients seeking tooth replacement options often debate dentures vs dental implants. The perks of choosing dentures are that they’re a cost-effective solution and easily removable when replacing some missing natural teeth.

Dentures Cost

Denture costs vary by type, materials and how many teeth need replacing, so the numbers below are a general guide only. We offer denture in very competitive prices with our in-house prosthetist. Find out more here.

Note that Medicare doesn’t cover adult dentures, but most private health funds with extras cover pay a partial rebate under general or major dental. At No Gaps Dental, we accept all Australian private health funds. DVA cardholders may have denture treatment fully covered.

Typical denture cost in Sydney: acrylic partial dentures typically range from $1,100 to $1,800+ per arch, with cast cobalt-chrome options reaching $1,800 to $2,500+. Basic acrylic full arches generally start between $1,500 and $2,500.

How Long Do Dentures Last, and How Do I Care for Them?

Most conventional dentures need to be remade or relined every five to seven years, as your gums and jawbone naturally change shape over time. Regular check-ups let us catch fit issues early, before they cause discomfort.

Day to day: remove and rinse your dentures after eating, brush them daily with a soft brush and denture-specific cleaner (not regular toothpaste, which can be abrasive), and soak them overnight in a denture-cleaning solution or water. Keep attending your regular dental check-ups so we can monitor fit and your remaining natural teeth.

Denture Repairs & Relines in Sydney

If a denture cracks, breaks, or no longer fits as well as it used to, don’t try to fix it yourself. A poor repair or fit can cause further damage or discomfort. Bring it in to any of our 18 Sydney clinics and we’ll assess whether it needs a repair, a reline (adjusting the fit as your gums change) or a replacement.
